This was one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen. When I speak of whimsical fantasy with a touch of goth, this is exactly what I mean. I remember watching the 2014 adaption *La Belle er la Bête* when I was younger. All I remember is, I was fascinated by the film purely because it was visually appealing. When Disney‘s version came out I was painfully disappointed. This film, however, didn‘t only manage to bring a dark and gothic atmosphere into the film, > -which I exactly what the film should be like; a young, innocent woman sacrificing herself for her father and falling in love with a monster in a old and cursed castle- but it also captures the process of falling in love and the fears that come along with it perfectly. All the doubts and sudden changes of the mind, not knowing what to do or feel.

> Left me sitting in silence unable to move. Such a good description of how useless war is. The storyline is so unpleasing. No glory. No happy end. Only the cold reality of war.
