Got a poster for this from hmv the other week. Best investment of my life

Beetlejuice is still such a fun time, and it's perfect mix of terror and comedy makes it such an enjoyable film to watch over and over again. It follows the Maitlands (Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis) a young couple who have recently died in a car accident. When a new family, the Deetzes (Winona Ryder, Catherine O'Hara and Jeffrey Jones) move into their home, the spirits turn to a "Bio-exorcist" Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton). Keaton steals every scene he's in (though being the title character he's barely in the film) and the late Catherine O'Hara is brilliant in this aswell. One of my main downparts of this is how much of an absolute pervert Beetlejuice is, and how they kind of make the climax centred around that, I don't know it doesn't work. All in all, a fun time and is one of Burton's best works to date.

Casino Royale is a thrilling 007 outing that has a perfect mix of action, suspense and drama. It follows the titular character James Bond (Daniel Craig) as he partakes in a high-stakes poker game in Montenegro against Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen), who will use the money won to establish his financial grip on a terrorist market. With help from Vesper Lynd (Eva Green), can he stop Le Chiffre before it's too late? I love the action in this, and the poker game had me on the edge of my seat, it was so well done. Though I thought it just takes way too long to get started. I know it's stabilising the characters and giving them some development, but come on, just get to the good bit already! Thought this was excellent though, excited to watch the other 25 now (Or 26 as Denis Villeneuve is doing a new one, but god knows when that'll be out).

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian is still a fun time with a fun bunch of new characters, but the turnout is very, very messy. Following on from its predecessor Night at the Museum (2006), Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) has moved on from his job as nightguard to an inventor. But when he learns the old exhibits are being put into storage at the Smithsonian, he and Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams) must save the day before Khamunrah (Hank Azaria) takes over the world. You see what I mean? A very messy plotline. It never knows what to do with itself. Though Adams gives it all in her role, and she steals the scenes, it just doesn't keep together this mess of a sequel. All the characters from the original return, such as Jedediah Smith (Owen Wilson), Theodore Roosevelt (Robin Williams) and Octavius (Steve Coogan), but they do absolutely nothing until the third act. So, uh, what was the point in them even being there if the plot is like this? And the whole inventor thing Larry is doing? Serves absolutely nothing to the plot whatsoever. I would've thought it would come in handy in the third act but nope! Overall, you're better off watching the first one. Just extremely eh.
