Lanthimos in maniera eccelsa ci sottolinea una realtà che sappiamo tutti benissimo ovvero che l’uomo si fa portavoce dei diritti ambientali ma è solo un parassita che si crede un eroe. E quindi niente, l’unica vera soluzione è la nostra estinzione. Così dalla nostra carcassa nascerebbero i fiori, e libere sarebbero le api.

To the question “is it better to speak or to die” there is no right or wrong answer. Even if deep down you always have the hope, that saying the right thing will change everything, in reality there is no better option: if you speak and nothing changes you suffer, if you “die” keeping it to yourself, suppressing the feelings, you suffer in silence having just the mere illusion of control. To me Elio’s “Cause I wanted you to know” is the only real way to behave in this situations. It is better to speak, doing so for ourselves.
