Fargo
"Fargo" is a great mix of dark humour and drama. The movie has its own unique style. The cold winter landscapes of Minnesota and North Dakota make you feel disconnected and helpless, which makes the story more exciting. Empty roads, white fields and lonely cars create a sense of emptiness and isolation. The warm, cosy interiors are a nice contrast to the cold, deadly streets.
The movie is bleak and absurd, but also very human. The characters are not your typical movie characters; they are real people whose mistakes lead to disaster.
At first, the locals seem naive, but this creates a contrast to the brutality of the crimes. When Marge talks to the suspects, they underestimate her because she is so gentle, which makes the investigation even more interesting.
