Frankenstein
what a beautiful film, guillermo del toro has never failed me, there’s so much to love about this. victor’s loneliness, grief and sorrow after losing his mother and later on elizabeth, is transferred into the creature, it longs for belonging, understanding and companionship, birthed from scraps of men and abandoned by its creator, it mourns an identity it never had. this is so beautiful and painful to watch, so tragic.
mia goth’s character means so much to me, her empathy and maternal instincts towards the creature represent everything i felt.
“*my place was never in this world. i sought and longed for something i could not quite name, but in you , i found it. to be lost and to be found, that is the lifespan of love. and in it brevity, it’s tragedy, this has been made eternal . better this way , to fade with your eyes gazing upon me”

i love her character so much, there’s so much unexplored depth in her that i deeply i appreciate. her short lived relationship with the creature means so much to me, they had a silent understanding, such a pure connection and i think that speaks on girls’ peculiar ability to love and mother any creature.
not to mention her special interests being insects ughh, i could go on and on about this film. 🧟♂️🪲⛈️🦷
i loved everything about it
