a beautiful film that celebrates the value death adds to life. Being aware of the imminence of your death means appreciating what happens around you, no matter how trivial it may seem. Whilst the smallest details can be fascinating when close to dying, immortality means experiencing everything up to and past the end of everything, until you forget what makes you who you are. When that happens, are you still you, or are you what remains of a time long ago that no one can remember, or perhaps no one is left to remember? Luckily, life is short, so we might as well celebrate it. The film says, “you will only get older”, and a big part of the movie is about making the most of the time you have. Every minute spent worrying, scared to do something, or nervous is a minute gone, and eventually you might wish you had enjoyed those minutes, because you will never be able to have another go. Not just bad moments, but even the forgettable ones with little meaning. Although the film focuses on that feeling of regret, it also tells the viewer that, on the other hand, they should be enjoyed. We’re only human after all, and we cant choose when to be nervous or worried sometimes. So instead of feeling regret over time wasted, you should make the most of it, present or past. i mean this in the way that while it's okay to feel negative at times, you should appreciate the present because it's the youngest you'll ever be, and in the end, it'll all be forgotten when there is no one left to remember. The only guarantee is that you have the choice to see the bright side. When i say past, i think that although there may have been things you wanted to do or regret doing, all of those actions have led up to you being what you are today, whether or not theres a version of you that could have been better. but theres no guarantee that there is one, and as I said before, when life is prolonged until memory of who you are fades, there is no you but an ageless corpse of what someone once was.
