found this quite scary, for a moment i thought i was looking at my own dad. paul mescal’s performance was exceptional; for me this was extremely heartbreaking, not just because the movie itself but because i deeply relate to both of the characters. the pain and trip sophie does in order to understand that her father is more than the version she has of him, and the severe mental illness calum deals with. the dance scene it’s pure suffering but also an understanding of the concept of the whole film. it made me want to forgive my own father, also kinda helped me process a few stuff about my own childhood. definitely one of the best movies i’ve watched this year.
