As a big fan of the original broadway version, this film has its own ups and downs. This movie was somehow good. I liked the cast, especially Connor's mom. I think she nailed that role and the vibe she brings is accurate for me. For Zoe, I think they casted her good too, although I guess I was more used to Laura Dreyfuss' voice for her parts of the song. Either way, I still think I saw Zoe's vibe in her, just maybe not the voice I was expecting. Connor's actor was also a good choice for his character, as well as Jared and I really liked that "Sincerely, Me" scene of the three of them. Another thing I liked about the movie was how they kept the original dialogues in the song "You Will Be Found" when it was that scene after Alana and Jared's part in the song. After listening to that song countless times, I could say that they really kept every word. And speaking of Alana, I liked how they gave her character more depth, making her not just somehow a side character but also someone who feels, a human being who is going through something just like every one of us. And not gonna lie, her solo song was pretty good. I guess to me, it was relatable, especially when these lyrics came in: *The anonymous ones Never let you see the ache they carry All of those anonymous ones Who never name that quiet pain they bury So they keep on keeping secrets that they think they have to hide But what if everybody's secret is they have that secret side?* This song—in some ways—made me feel seen. Also, not gonna lie, I liked this version of the ending more than the play. They showed that Connor was just more than what people think of him as. They made him have more personality, not just through Evan's stories but in a real life video that Evan got from someone who spent days with him in recovery. And it was nice to see that he sent them to Alana, Jared, and the Murphy's because of course, after all that, they definitely deserved something real, a real and good memory of Connor. And it showed that Evan did indeed try to make efforts to get to know Connor more and try to make it up to everyone even though what he did was really unforgivable. __________ Aside from the good ones, there are also things I didn't like. Like the very first one I noticed which was Ben Platt not really looking like a teenager here. Of course, his voice is still amazing but whenever he cries, he just looks too old to be a 17-year old. Also, I was a bit skeptical about Alana's solo song. Though it was pretty good, I think I have mixed feelings about it because they changed it with a banger song called "Disappear". That song really had good meaning and it really fit with the story's flow. Like exactly what the lyrics said: *No one deserves to be forgotten No one deserves to fade away To fade away No one should flicker out or have any doubt That it matters that they are here No one deserves to disappear* These lyrics showed so much about people being forgotten the second they pass away and people doubting themselves on why they're here in this world and if they even matter. This song just makes us realize that it sucks because a lot of people feel that way. And they shouldn't, no one should. And then there's also this, when Zoe mentioned that Larry wasn't their biological father and was their stepfather because I think their real father died when Zoe was just a year old. I did not expect that? To me, I think that was an unnecessary change. And of course, I also didn't like how they removed the good songs. The song "Good For You" ??? That was such a good song, and it was just so important in the story! As well as "Disappear" like I said in my previous paragraphs. But I guess overall, it's a movie where I can rewatch specific scenes, only of the songs I liked. Maybe I was just really used to the broadway version so I had a lot to say about this XD

Amazed, truly amazed. I loved the retro-futuristic style of the movie—one that we've never really seen in the MCU. It was also just so touching that there were two times wherein Johnny wanted to sacrifice himself for Franklin and the family, and that says a lot about their dynamic as a whole. That they are, indeed a family. And the effects were so cool and so real, especially galactus and the effects when they were in outer space. So much of the teleportation scenes in space reminded me of Guardians of the Galaxy. I also liked how they were really real with the fantastic four's limits, as there were not much of a plot armor in the superheroes. Like for some reason, I was open to the possibility that they would lose Franklin to Galactus or it was either Galactus will fully invade their planet. And for a second too, I cried because of the thought that Sue might actually die. Until I remembered that there was a reason Galactus wanted Franklin. Because he's really powerful and can even create a pocket universe. So after a second, yes, I did think he was just the answer to bring back Sue to life. There were also a lot of times where I screamed silently in the cinema, because of the intense and *fantastic* (pun intended) action scenes. Also, when Silver Surfer was shown to be a woman in the trailer, I was a bit skeptical on how I'd view her since I was used to Silver Surfer being a man. But hell no, I loved her in this movie. I found myself truly captivated whenever she went to chase the fantastic four, especially that scene where she just interrupted their initial plan of teleporting their planet. Like I wasn't expecting her to come around, maybe because I was engrossed on what would happen if their teleportation plan actually worked. And her having a little backstory also added to her character, which made her have a light redemption arc in the end of the movie. I guess I wanted more of her on the screen too. Galactus gave me goosebumps as well. When he first showed up on screen, when his eyes glowed, my eyes widened with excitement. I was definitely watching peak cinema right there. Whenever he was on screen, I couldn't help but be more immersed to the movie because of the intense feelings his action scenes brought me. Like literally, the way he walked slowly really gives out the "strongest and most powerful villain" vibe. Like most of the time, nothing they did seriously affected him, except for when Sue gave it her all for her son and her family. God, that scene gave me the chills. She was so powerful and they showed it in the best way possible. And that scene where Galactus slowly came back from the portal made me scream out of my seat. I thought it was over but knowing Galactus, he is really a high-powered being. I thought it was gonna be Johnny who'll try and push him back to the portal and I already had this theory that maybe that's why the fantastic four's ship was seen in the after credits of the Thunderbolts movie was because maybe they'll try to find Johnny in their universe. But holy hell, Silver Surfer came and pushed Galactus back. Man, that was insane actually. And lastly, that mid credits scene. Hoooly hell, IT WAS DOOM! Come on, I literally cursed from my seat, saying it was Doom. With Franklin! And that's what made me theorize another thing. That what if the reason they were seen in the main universe was because Doom brought Franklin with him to the main universe and the fantastic four went there to look for him? I guess we'll know when Doomsday is out. Overall, with the action sequence, light comedy, and drama, this movie was definitely a rollercoaster of emotions. I giggled, felt the suspense, and cried. It was a good movie and I sure as hell want more of them!

i watch this when i need a good laugh

I don't even know how to describe this movie other than pointing out that it was so gay
