La La Land
I’ve seen this a good handful of times and each and every time, it never fails to entertain no matter what rewatch I’m on.
La La Land is one of the first movies I watched when I really started getting into movies. I’ve always been a fan of musicals and this one especially grabbed my attention mostly cause of its cast. Ryan Gosling is phenomenal in this movie and so is Emma Stone. they both have great chemistry that in my book, goes down as some of the best chemistry in movie history. their relationship feels real and the high points are charming and fun and the low points are brutal and honest. Damian Chazzelle did a hell of a job with this movie and after this, I never forgot his name and has seen all of his movies since.
overall, the music is fantastically fun and the emotional moments are real and show true heart. the messages and themes of the movie are realistic and while they can seem harsh, (you don’t always end up with the one you want and to always pursue your interests not others) are inspiring and show true characters.
