BrokerJo9.8· July 7, 2022Followthank you for being born. a beautiful yet devastating film about chosen families, being abandoned, responsibility, and making a choice. i already knew what i was getting into before watching the film, and so, i was already dreading the heartbreak that was yet to come while watching the moments in which they where happy and felt like a family. and yet, knowing about the incoming heartbreak did nothing to help lessen the pain that i felt because of this film. instead, i think that’s what made it hurt more. i already knew that broker is going to break me, and that knowledge only made it hurt more. the actors’ performances were amazing especially iu’s and i found myself crying along with her during the ferris wheel scene, and yet again when she told the lines “thank you for being born”. her acting was amazing as always. anyway, this film is so amazing and one of the best ones i’ve seen this year. i’ll be thinking about this a lot. thank you koreeda for this film, and of course, thank you for being born.CommentsSign in to react and join the conversation.Sign inGet the app
