Solaris

Soviet psychologist is sent to investigate the mass delusion infecting a space station. The station is orbiting a planet called Solaris and is able to bring about physical memories that are haunting the crew. The psychologist, who was sent to help the crew, ends up having to confront his past head on.  Tarkovsky’s shots are what make this movie, his slow moving and almost static shots of the surface of Solaris make the planet feel completely foreign yet luring. The dialogue is rough at times but I think the message and telling of the story make up for it.
