i'm honestly still at a loss for words right now but the colors, score, and the green lighting was INSANE WORK man!!
the first half really got me. i felt very indifferent about what was happening (and i was even getting sleepy) but when that click happened and everything started getting into gear, you couldn't pry my eyes off.
for a 2 hour long film it sure did feel like longer. the longer shots, the dialogue, and the calmer movement were such a treat to watch. it really made me realize how fast-paced the movies we have nowadays are. i honestly have no idea if my attention span is just fried, but dude. every scene felt like it was soaking into my brain so nicely
the fact this came out in the 50s is also so impossible to me comprehend. so like yall REALLY were on that since the beginning. safe to say, this gave me a whole new appreciation for hitchcock, and TRUST you'll be seeing me again watching more technicolor!!
