Radical
words can express how much i appreciated this film. i went in expecting a cheerful witty film and walked out the theater carrying an enormous amount of sadness. being set in mexico, i couldn’t help but think of my parents in their youth and how much they sacrificed in order to help their family. Eugenio Derbez was excellent in the film. his character had so much hope for those kids. he wanted nothing but the best for them and tried to make school as exciting as possible. it was such a heartbreaking film.
there was a scene where they broke the 180° rule but made so much sense for that scene. it was a scene full of confusion from Derbez’s character and captured that exactly feeling. brilliant.
i watched this with my family and we all cried.
