Went into this movie blind. In the first 15-20 minutes it was challenging to get immersed and separate markiplier from Simon, It also feels like these first 15-20 minutes don’t do a great job of painting the world of iron lung. That being said there was never a point in time where this movie didn’t have my attention and after those first 15-20 minutes the movie really picks up and it definitely hooked me. I felt impressed by Mark’s performance and the movie in general especially some of the visuals in the second half. Atmosphere is great, vfx are great and the cinematography was pretty good as well. All that being said on a first watch I’m giving this movie a 7 but i expect my second watch to bring the score up to at least an 8. Iron Lung proves that video game adaptations should only be made by those who understand and love it’s source material.
