as soon as we saw that this was the film for the Secret Screening.. someone yelled out "Fuck!!" and we all cackled.
but on a serious note, i was ECSTATIC that this was the secret screening film as i've been dying to watch this film ever since i saw the trailer for the first time. I had already bought the book weeks prior because i KNEW i was gonna love this film. and boy did i love it. i truly haven't cried uncontrollably like that in the cinema for a long time. This movie was beyond inspiring and beyond beautiful. This movie isn't just educational about tourette's but can bring light to various different medical and mental conditions in the world that still have so much stigma surrounding them to this day. the acting in this was remarkable. the cast did an outstanding job. i especially loved the fact he was overcompensating with kindness to make up for the actions he cannot control.. truly broke my heart. i truly wanted to write so much more cuz this movie was brilliant. The beautiful scottish scenery with the beautiful story of this man. oh god i truly cannot love this film more. definitely my favourite film of the year and for sure + one of the best scottish films i've seen in my life. i truly TRULY hope everyone watches this and gives it the love and attention it deserves. REMARKABLE. a comedic, genius and moving masterpiece.
