"How beautiful! Truly beautiful.. A sunset. i don't think i've really looked at one in 30 years!"
this might genuinely be the best film i have ever seen. i have never been as moved at such a simple yet deep story. it simple as its just life but thats what makes it perfect. the way it filled my heart and had me sobbing multiple times and how i still was able to feel a bit of happiness in the sorrow just like the protagonist. He so desperately wanted to make up for his regrets in life and to find meaning in it as it was fading away from him. the idea that he had such little time but still was able to find meaning really moved me. you can do so much in such a little time to make up for what you've missed out on your entire life. it truly makes you think and want to live your life to the fullest even if it feels meaningless. i don't know if there will ever be a film that will compare. as long as it is, i was itching for more. i wanted to see more of him achieving happiness and fulfilment but the lack of also felt intentional. i wanted to see him live the life he so wanted to live but it was cut short but that's just how life is. inevitable and short. so the way it felt so cut short mid film felt like it was meant to be that way. 100% a timeless masterpiece. i will never forget this film. a film EVERYBODY should watch at least once in their lives. new top 4 addition..
i started this yesterday, on new year's eve but finished it today. a great start to my year and i think i will carry it with me till i die. i'll try and live out this year and upcoming years to the fullest <3
