I’m so sick and tired of everyone only raving about the opening ten minutes of this movie. yes it’s sad, yes it’s great, but that’s not WHY this movie works. it works because of how real the story is. how even though it’s about a flying house, a talking doggo and a colorful bird it feels real. Carl is a real person with truly deep problems and feelings. It’s about life and love and the real adventure that both of those things are. it’s the most gripping, genuine, heart wrenching and beautiful story about loss, age, moving on and appreciating the little things. This movie defines how i live and how i love because it’s perfect and it’s gorgeous the whole way through.
