Perfect Days
“Next time is next time. Now is now”
It’s quite difficult to understand what makes Perfect Days click so well for me, and this could very much be a movie that either works or doesn’t for most people. Coming out of the theatre I found myself in a fresh state of mind, and I haven't stopped thinking about this film since.
Perfect Days feels like taking a dive into the lives of some background characters. These people are not extraordinary, nor are they regular people under some strenuous circumstances. Just watching some everyday Joe go about his everyday obligations and troubles for 120 minutes.
The visuals in this film are simply magnifying, the 4:3 aspect ratio looks incredible, and the colour grading is stunningly vibrant. The visuals for the dreams are some of the coolest and most interesting things i’ve seen in a movie. The use of music, especially the needle drops in this film are extraordinary as well.
I’ll sit with this film for a long time and maybe it might become a five star. See it in cinemas if you can. A funny, sad, joyous, melancholy, & hopeful film.
