damn. i wish i'd watched this in imax. i refuse to believe that odysseus' teeth actually stayed that white for his whole voyage because what the hell. score was phenomenal, perfect perfect perfect all the way through. after the trial sequence when we panned to see everyone knelt down, i heard the whole room breathe a collective sigh of relief because we'd all stopped breathing. yes, it was long, but every second of that was a second well spent so i don't begrudge the long runtime one little bit. though, about 2/3 of the way through i started shivering because the air con in the cinema was wayy too cold and i really needed a wee but was too captivated to leave for even a minute, so spent that last painstaking (albeit beautiful) hour in immense discomfort. we might be in a heatwave, but i'm still writing this curled on my sofa wrapped in a blanket because i was so cold in there that my arms went purple. i could blame the goosebumps and raised hairs on the temperature as well, but it would be far more fair to say that they were both caused by the striking visuals and spellbinding *"nolan-ness"* of the film i've just been blessed by. i was going to make a comment about how lucky my eyes are to have seen this, but that would seriously neglect all my other senses which also experienced the wonders of *The Odyssey* whilst simultaneously reminding me of how sorry and squeamish i felt when they attacked that cyclops. i felt more inclined to sympathise with the cyclops than with Elle Driver (Kill Bill), but the nauseous feeling in my stomach was similar in both cases. i'm very squeamish regarding anything to do with the eyes. thank you, nolan, for helping to revive film and cinema with this beauty. i've not seen a screen fully sold out in my local cinema in a very, very long time. whilst i adored the entire 2 hours and 53 minutes i spent standing alongside odysseus and his people, i couldn't help but think to myself: * "damn. i wish i'd watched this in imax"*.

well done you've successfully ruined the colour green for me thanks a bunch

definitely prefer volume 1 to this because there are moments i feel drag on a little, but volume 2 is absolutely necessary and a perfect way to finish (any more or any less of kill bill is wrong) and regardless was a beautiful watch

no words. absolute cinema.
