Cha Cha Real Smooth
I might not have loved the cinematography of it, the soundtrack, color, and the construction of the movie. It made it look a bit too unserious and juvenile. I believe a different curation could have granted it SO much.
But nonetheless I loved the movie. The plot line was great. The dialogue was so deeply touching and relatable. The characters are complex and real.
It well portrays themes of mental health and shows such a beautiful emotional tie between two people who are just trying to get by. A coming-of-age movie that is not self-centered with a main character that has the sweetest heart ever known. His way of caring for not only the people he loves but to everyone is so genuine and heartwarming.
The portrayal of love is so realistic, and that is so rare in an industry that often romanticizes it in a way that not only reduces it to romance but also creates unrealistic expectations in the viewers.
The on-screen chemistry is so good, and the charm is real. Of course I wish they ended up together, but I know that is not what the movie was about…
But honestly, why not? If a person makes you feel alive like Andrew does Domino why should you not be together? I get that he is young and she doesn’t want him to surround his life around her and Lola, I do; I also get that her fiancé is a good guy, and he’ll make her happy, but it should be about more than just love. I believe if you meet someone that lights a fire within you, you should go after it.
I really enjoyed the movie!
