Titane
holy shit that was some FEARLESS filmmaking. it’s a fiery comet that doesn’t slow down until the final frame when it hits you with an explosive conclusion. i would never have the balls to make this film, but i admire the hell out of it. it’s grimy and graphic and loud, but also beautiful and heartfelt and emotional. i had chills all over my body watching the final scene - i was in awe of the bold, singular filmmaking i was witnessing. often films like this get lost in the “weirdness” and end up being a messy montage of shocking imagery. but this was cohesive and i was able to latch onto the themes here. this film has something meaningful to say. maybe i will come back to this film one day, but i kind of want to just always remember the experience i had the first time.
