I enjoyed this! Not as much as the first one but it was still fun.  Some fun new characters here, and some epic deaths. The washing machine one in particular was brutal! My only real criticism of this one was Kathryn Newton. Ever since I saw her in Supernatural all those years ago, I’ve just found she plays the same character in everything and she’s just not that compelling. She’s always playing some annoying daughter or little sister, and it’s no different here. And, to me, she seemed incredibly weak when acting against Samara Weaving, who is a powerhouse. I would’ve much rather had someone like McKenna Grace in the role, I think she could have held her own against Samara a lot better.

We went to a Cineworld ‘Secret Screaming’ today and we got to watch this a couple days early!! And I’m really glad we did. I was planning on seeing this anyway, but seeing it early is a nice little treat.  Zazie Beetz makes for an incredible Final Girl. She is just savage from the get-go and I love her.  Some amazing gore here - I’m shocked it was only a 15, they got away with a lot. It gave me Evil Dead 2 vibes with the comedic horror, and I loved that!! Overall, this was an absolute riot!!

Back for Round 2 - this time in Dolby sound.  Incredible again, and yeah the sound was incredible for this one. The screen wasn’t as impressive as the BFI (obviously) but still just a gorgeous film.  Cried just as much as the first time, laughed just as much too.  This is an all-timer, man. This is gonna be one of those films I look back at so fondly when I’m old, and I’m so glad I got to see it on the big screen.  I anticipate a few more screenings of this in my future. Might have to do all the different kinds of screenings like Lord and Miller suggest 👀 4DX I’m looking at you…

Finally got round to this!! Looking forward to the sequel so figured I needed to get round to the first one first.  Samara Weaving is great in this. And my god, she has a great scream! Great cast in this, some great kills and gross stuff going on! Great soundtrack!
