poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for i don’t review i analyze.

its taking allll the energy in me to not put this in my top 4 like actually genuinely every michael cera movie is a hit and never a miss maybe his role is always to be himself but that alone is so beautiful and enough this movie is not what i expected it to be but it exceeded every expectation i had it was genuinely so funny i enjoyed it just as much as i enjoyed superbad i also feel like this movie carries a way deeper message considering all the bullshit that was happening nick saying “Turns out that, in the end, just being Nick Twisp was enough.” made me weirdly emotional because yes the whole movie is super unrealistic but in a way it is also super relatable the way we go over and beyond just to be loved and feel loved when in the end being ourselves is the real love we give ourselves and the real love we deserve to more michael cera films !! 🥂

This is my second Takahiro Miki film, and I can confidently say that his style is incredibly distinct and melancholic. both “Tomorrow, Your Yesterday” and “Drawing Closer” were such well balanced films, but they were primarily centered around this ephemeral concept of living in the moment. everything is temporary, and you can’t stop, change, or chase time. However, you can live in the present and appreciate what you’ve experienced. I genuinely enjoyed this movie, and I’m looking forward to discovering more of his films!

here we go again

we are the people who rule the world
