Chicago
It's honestly one of those movies that feels messy in the best way. Everyone is selfish, glittery, and morally questionable, yet you’re just sitting there like “yeah they kinda ate actually.” The whole thing is so theatrical but never feels fake, it’s loud, seductive, funny, and then randomly hits you with “oh… fame is actually horrifying.” Velma and Roxie aren’t likable in a traditional sense but THAT'S THE POINT!! they’re ambitious, delusional, and desperate and the film never pretends otherwise. Plus the musical numbers still go CRAZY, the editing is too smooth, and it somehow makes it look gorgeous.
