The kind of 'meanness' everyone in this movie does hurts more because its socially acceptable. Frances isnt failing at life, shes just out of sync. And somehow that makes people treat her like a problem to be fixed rather than a person to sit with. Love it when shit gives me a quarter-life-crisis and the feeling that i already failed adulthood
