Soft Rain
As far back as I can remember, I’ve always loved rain. I remember playing in it with my parents when I was around 5-6 at our terrace running around soaked and laughing. At ten it was while playing cricket in the park and not caring how wet we get. At 13 I would dance in it without a second thought. Even now, I’ll leave the umbrella behind on purpose if I know it’s raining, just so I can feel it on my skin on the way to college. Sometimes I’ll just sit under it, letting each drop land on me and really feeling it. I have always loved the chaos of rain, the messiness of it, the muddy keechad, the way the world swamps and softens. There’s something grounding about it. Rain reminds me that life, at its core, is simple and beautiful. It’s just water falling from the sky its such a basic thing if we think about it and yet every drop that touches me it feels different.it makes me feel so beautiful and pauses me for a second.
That’s what this short film get so right too. You have to find your own happiness, even if it’s in something as ordinary as falling water. Maybe that’s the trick i guess holding on to the small things even when everything feels like too much.
Life is good but it’s tragic as fuck and Most of the time I feel miserable and I hate it, I despise it. But in all that mess……….I still love it. Somehow….I still do.
