Interstellar
"Cooper: I love you, forever. You hear me? I love you forever. And I'm coming back. I'm coming back."
I'm really embarrased to admit that I watched THE interstellar so recently, but then again I haven't seen movies like the titanic or the fight club either, so I probably should accept the fact that there is alot I haven't yet seen. I can't believe I've postponed to watch this movie for such a long time just for it to be better than I could have imagined.
"Murph: Hey Dad. You sonabitch. Never made one of these while you were still responding because I was so mad at you for leaving. And when you went quiet, it seemed like I should live with that decision, and I have. But today's my birthday. And it's a special one, because you told me... you once told me that by the time you came back we might be the same age. And today I'm the same age you were when you left."
I don't even know where to start. I've never really been big on space movies, although I really loved Project Hail Mary (it definitely plays in a different league though). Matthew McConaughey was INCREDIBLE. I obviously saw many spoilers before watching the movie, and still cried three times (in my defense, the movie was really long). Mackenzie Foy who played young Murph was so good aswell, they literally couldn't have found a better actress. Who would have guessed the baby from twilight would grow up to be such a talented actress?
**"Cooper: Dr. Mann there's a 50/50 chance your gonna kill yourself.
Dr. Mann: Those are the best odds I've had in years."**
I really liked the fact the movie didn't dwell on floating in space like most space movies tend to do, instead most of the film focused on the characters on earth and the different planets. I have to admit that after two hours of watching I kind of zoned out when they started rambling about astrophysics, that stuff is a foreign language to me. Please take my advice and never watch this movie if you’re tired.
"Brand: Love is the one thing we're capable of perceiving that transcends time and space."
I couldn't stand Brand at first, but I did understand her later in the movie. I would have insisted to go on a foreign planet just to meet the love of my life again too, can't blame the girl. She wasn't even evil throughout the movie, after all she had no idea of her father’s true intentions.
**"Cooper: You have to talk to me, Murph. I need to fix this before I go.
Murph: Then I'll keep it broken so you have to stay."**
Overall, a perfect movie. Complex characters and good world building gets this movie full 5 stars. I cannot comprehend that Christopher Nolan directed AND wrote the screenplay for this movie, that man is a literal genius. Also, there was no better music composer for this movie than Hans Zimmer (this is my sign to rewatch the Dune).
