“No dialogue? No problem. Just pure, unrelenting cinema.” Mel Gibson may be chaos incarnate, but damn can he direct. Apocalypto is brutal, beautiful, and adrenaline-soaked from start to finish. The jungle is alive, the stakes are primal, and the final act had me gripping my seat like I was being chased. It’s survival cinema at its most visceral and somehow, also deeply human.
