The Substance

“I loved the substance, but it made my skin crawl.” This film does exactly what it sets out to do it lingers. Every frame feels intentional, every silence heavy. The themes hit hard, and even when I wanted to look away, I couldn’t. There’s real artistry here sharp writing, haunting performances, and that rare feeling of being completely absorbed (and a little disturbed) at the same time. I left both impressed and deeply uncomfortable which, honestly, might be the highest compliment this kind of movie can get.
