Lady Vengeance

belum nonton oldboy & sympathy for mr. vengeance, langsung ke sini hehe karena dari awal emang udah penasaran sama yang ini sih. belum liat banyak orang yang ngebahas film ini juga. would this be my favorite korean movie so far? maybe yes! the plot is brilliant, especially how the story slowly reveals the truth behind everything while building geum-ja's revenge plan step by step. the ending, in my opinion, was already satisfying. maybe it's not the greatest revenge ever put on screen, but it feels emotionally rewarding and fits the story perfectly. the character development is also really strong several characters are given enough background and motivation to make their actions feel understandable and impactful. lee geum-ja is truly an angel who is angry. that's why the word "angel" appears at the beginning and the end of the film. during her revenge, if you notice, she wears red eyeshadow and her attitude becomes colder compared to how she acted before prison. to me, this represents her true self finally coming out cruel, determined, and emotionally distant. then, at the end, she removes the red eyeshadow, symbolizing that she has finally found relief after carrying the burden of a revenge she should have taken long ago. a really good movie. i definitely need to watch more korean films. this director also made another movie that i really liked last year.
