Miller's Crossing
[45/100]
Keeps that same whimsy and wit that other Coen films I’ve seen have; which to me, is the downfall of the film. The narrative that Joel Coen crafted is actually great. The problem is: the usual Coen style just doesn’t work for a story like this. In my eyes, it feels like these characters are meant to be menacing and ruthless; instead, they all come off as goofballs rather than hardened criminals (especially considering the year).
