Prisoners
i actually don’t know where to start fucking hell (in a good way)
genuinely the best performances i have seen from both hugh jackman and jake gyllenhaal, like honestly actually fucking incredible performances bloody hell.
twists and turns were all insane like the thrown in sort of copycat case thing and the genuine anxiety i had when jake gyllenhaal was walking through the abduction house, i felt my heart in my chest and my chest in my arse.
like the run time didn’t let it down either there was not a breath of fresh air through any of it what so ever nothing let up perfect balance of each sort of “storyline” and everything just felt perfect throughout.
the cinematography and setting of Georgia just felt so like normal and life like that it just added to the feeling of the film so much and the anxiety through each small house and then that there was so much huge space in the big buildings.
was absolutely convinced jake gyllenhaal was gonna bloody fly through the windscreen in the climax and i’m so convinced that hugh jackman had to be found at the end with the whistle like gyllenhaal KNEW what whistle he heard i could see it.
one of honestly the best sort of “who dunnit” esq stories i’ve ever seen and when it comes to thrillers absolutely in my like top three ever was bloody insane.
only issue i had was the fade out cuts just felt kinda tv series esq maybe just felt out of place but bloody hell that’s gonna be in like my top ten favourite films ever not trying to be dramatic but it was incredible, and i’m glad Jas finally wore me down to watch it even though i was scared of the run time
wig💅wig indeed💅
