Don't make the same mistake I did! Don't watch this in public! Had me ugly crying by the end.

Is deep emotional involvement with patients a sign of empathy and dedication? And when does it cross the line into unprofessionalism? I think this film explores this theme really beautifully.

I have nothing against live action remakes, I think there's a market for them, however, when the movie is a frame by frame recreation that decides to purposefully emulate the animated feel of the original, we need to ask ourselves, was it really necessary?

There are no major twists or standout dramatic moments. The film lives almost entirely through its dialogue, the sincerity of its characters, and the naïveté of youth. Still, it captures that bittersweet feeling of adolescence remarkably well, a time when the future feels like an endless source of insecurity, but at the same time, a well of infinite possibilities.
