‘play a melancholy song.’ i tried to watch this for the first time in mid 2021 during lockdown and turned it off after about an hour. though giving it a go now, the loneliness depicted in this film can rlly hit close to home it’s interesting to watch this film in a time where the growth of AI appears to be rapidly accelerating too. i absolutely adore everything about this film— the colours, cinematography, the soundtrack and especially phoenix’s performance. he rlly devours the sad yearning guy trope every time
