Arrival

its weird, the plot seems uninteresting. if i asked you "do you wanna watch a movie about a teacher translating alien language" you'd probably say no. if you asked me, i'd never watch this, but man i'm glad i did. this movie is more than that. it hits on every emotional aspect, the twist will blow your mind and have you backtracking on the events of the movie. so much story and emotion is portrayed by the framing and shot-taking. the score also adds so much to this movie, and that final scene with "on the nature of daylight" was something else. really makes you feel how languages are more than just words, but a way to communicate and perceive different aspects of our lives such as emotions, feelings, and in this case, time. Denis is just consistently incredible
