Prisoners
i think what makes this movie so special and hit so hard is because of how real it is. each interaction felt so real that it disturbed me. dover does some insane stuff, but you can easily understand why he does it. this shows how far some people will go for their family. its simply a dad who wants his daughter back, which is what makes it so real. you can also probably sympathize with a detective (who has never lost a case) losing confidence in the success of his investigation, and how that affects him emotionally. the dynamic between these two are done so perfectly, and the acting performances of hugh and jake make it even better. in the end, all of them were truly prisoners
