Love Design
i have a lot to say about this series. this is a kind of masterpiece that you don’t just watch, it also something that you carry with you.
first of all, i would like to compliment the cinematography for this, it looks like a k-drama because of how good and clean it is, and i have yet to discover another gl series who do it like them (if there is that i missed then pls recommend it to me 😣). the use of warm tones and natural lighting gives the series a comforting, almost nostalgic atmosphere that will make u want to cry, and the bgm will make it worse btw. the camera angles are also very well done! the shots feel clean and well-arranged which makes it very visually pleasing that even the quietest scenes can deeply impact you. the places where they shoot at is also impressive, in japan really?!?! anyway, this alone is already enough to make me obsessed with this series.
now i wanna talk about the story. i really had a great time watching this, one episode in and i’m already invested. i love the enemies to lovers trope with a comedy on the side, they really executed that well! (i’m a big sucker for rom-coms) kudos to kaojane’s great chemistry and acting skills. what i love the most is this unique part of the series where it incorporates the idea of string theory. just like in string theory, where everything is connected by invisible threads, the series shows that aokbab and rin are linked even when they don’t realize it, and that adds that they were really destined for each other (soulmates perhaps) huge compliment to the story pacing and storytelling! they told their story very well without rushing and the slowburn is slowburning.
it’s also very different from other gls that i’ve watched. this is one of the greenest gl out there, the way that it doesn’t need any intimate scenes to prove their love with each other says a lot. everything feels wholesome and fluff!!
lastly, as someone who’s drawn to art and architecture, the series resonates with me deeply. while i love watching their relationship unfolds, i’m also rooting on how they express their passions together. love design feel like both a love story and an idea on how people and their passions are connected. some lines in the series feels like a hug to me because of how it reminds me why i love drawing, it reminds me that being an artist isn’t just about making something beautiful, it’s about putting a piece of yourself into your work and learning from every mistake along the way.
i hope this series will forever be engraved in my heart. my comfort show forever. i hope a love like this will find me someday.
