Alien

My eyes have officially been opened.  Truly spectacular. I only saw this once when I was much younger, and clearly wasn’t as locked in as I was right now, because this was just sublime.  David and Ash, two characters that elevate this franchise and my engagement for the story to another level. Two characters that also carry themes of existential weight, which always grabs my attention in science fiction.  The amount of dread and suspense soaked into every frame of this thing. Practical effects and set design that still holds up now, and even surpasses most films of today.  A perfect film.
