Gorgeously gothic coming of age ghost tale. Del Toro’s command over atmosphere is like few others working today. Delicate portraits of humanism, where superstition tugs at the endless horizons of adolescent imagination, and the world becomes infinitely grander as the mind begins to confront the harsh horrors of reality.
