The Eternaut

Anybody who knows me knows that post apocalyptic sci-fi is one of my favourite sub-genres of media to dive into…. So understandably when I saw that Argentina were jumping into the mix with Netflix for their biggest production to date out of the country, I was very excited! I am happy to say that The Eternaut did not disappoint! An impressive blend of large scale production design and detailed visual effects have created an extremely believable apocalyptic landscape here. The environments are varied and vast, keeping you immersed in the devastation and mystery of this newly torn apart world. The first few episodes are a little slower making sure to introduce you to all the characters, whilst setting up the introduction to this disaster. Then around the half way mark the last few episodes ramp up the intensity significantly with some seriously cool science fiction ideas and twists that have only left me eager to see where the story goes!! Very similar vibes to the first season of Falling Skies if anybody watched that back in the day. A fun watch, especially if you love these kinds themes as much as me!
