Spider-Man

Might just be my favorite superhero film of all time. So many iconic and just downright awesome to watch sequences. You can see how Raimi’s experience with practical effects on the Evil Dead films influenced how he filmed a lot of this movie and its aged super well because of it. There are definitely a few examples of CGI that don’t hold up as well, but they look fine enough. The script is the perfect amount of cheesy and campy, but still does emotional scenes really well, like with Uncle Ben’s speech and death. The cast is fantastic. Willem Dafoe is absolutely insane in the best way and I don’t care what anyone says I think Tobey is fantastic as Peter and Spider-man. Kinda awkward and weird as Peter, but confident and witty once he puts on the mask. The action is so freaking good. The fight before the upside down kiss is just incredible. The camera work, the lighting, everything is so perfect. Hate me if you want, but this is a perfect superhero movie.
