Hamnet

This was an incredibly moving performance by Jessie Buckley. This might be my favourite movie of the year. When Hollywood adapts a beautiful book I always get nervous. However, this was a knockout of a movie that hurt me and I plan to never watch it again.  We don’t know much about Shakespeare, thus making the concept believable. Although the Guardian said it took some “literary contortions” to buy into the concept which is a sentiment I totally agree with. I wish we got to see more of Hamnet and less of their early life.
