La Haine is a film that you would want to rewatch just for the sake of the high octane style and oozing coolness. The youth have the power to change the world and I strongly believe that this film made it clearer than ever. Since it is the World Cup season, I couldn’t stop, but observe some similarities between Vinz, Said, and Hubert with the French national team trio (Mbappe, Dembele, and Olise). I don’t know if the comparison makes sense, but it did for me. Vinz resorts to chaos for resolution, but Hubert measures each steps before taking an action. Two sides of the same coin. However, Said is in the middle. Moreover, the police investigation scene in Paris is so uncomfortable to watch.

I watched this film with an open mind to get the bigger picture and I just let the storyline flow without overthinking about anything. First of all, I loved the melancholia that this film brings, one of which was the long shots of Timothee crying at the end and playing ‘futile devices’ and ‘mystery of love’ makes my heart pain. The soundtracks are so fitting for this movie. The aesthetics and vibes are unmatched. Moreover, the monologues in this movie are so well-written. > “Is it better to speak or to die?” > ”How you live your life is your business, just remember, our hearts and our bodies are given to us only once. And before you know it, your heart is worn out, and, as for your body, there comes a point when no one looks at it, much less wants to come near it. Right now, there’s sorrow, pain. Don’t kill it and with it the joy you’ve felt." However, it was really hard for me to sit through all the intimate scenes, but it made it worthwhile for that ending. The last time I felt so empty after watching a movie was ‘In the Mood for Love’. This film is not for the faint of heart and I’m not gonna visit this film for a very long time.

HOLY PEAKK The Star Wars reference (iykyk) will never get old and Toy Story is the best franchise to sneak those references. The “NOOOOOO!!!” is so Luke Skywalker coded every time. Woody’s bald ass head glaring makes me wheeze every time, but it’s kind of sad that the voice actor, our beloved Tom Hanks, is getting old. Moreover, the graphics have only improved from its prequels. Therefore, I believe that this franchise still passes the test of time by ensuring Toy Story will be loved and respected among family and friends.

I love Steven Spielberg so much. He’s my most watched director last year. However, this film felt way too stretched out for a Spielberg movie, especially the whole chasing sequences of Margaret and Daniel. To begin with, I liked how they managed to maintain a mysterious tone throughout and the buildup for the third act of the film was well-written. In addition, the disclosure scene was really thought-provoking and made it into a chilling experience. However, the CGI made the reminiscing scene and disclosure scene less captivating for me at least. There were some moments that felt too rushed and that left a void in the plot.
