Poor Things

God that was fucking amazing and everyone who is ranting about emma stone playing “a sex doll with with the mind of an baby” need to get a grip and understand that not liking a movie/finding it comfortable does not make you morally superior. This is a weird take on a coming of age story, sure, but this is also a movie where pig heads are sown into hen bodies and the brains of babies are put into their deceased mothers skulls. It is WEIRD and GROTESQUE and FUNNY but also very lovingly made. The sets and costumes are to die for, there is so much detail and love put into everything (the steam carriage with a horse’s head sown on the front??? LOVE) the worldbuilding is unlike anything I’ve seen before and my only gripe is that I never got to see those vibrant scenes on the cinema screen.
