The Wedding Singer (1998) Review 8/10 This film is very hilarious. Sandler plays a very silly character. He along with his cast create witty and entertaining gags and jokes throughout the film. Sandler has great chemistry with Barrymore in this. This film is worth watching for the laughs.

100th Film Milestone Clue (1985) Review 8/10 This film is brilliant for its time. This is due to the memorable performances, clever writing, and unique premise. I felt this had many good and memorable performances especially Curry’s character. But of course, actor sold a spectacular performance. I found the writing clever because of its sharp and witty humor. Another reason is the quotable lines in the film. I found the premise interesting because not only does it adapt a board game, but it has different endings. This film is overall a memorable film and worth to re-watch.

DCAU Marathon: 2/67 Batman & Mr. Freeze: Sub-Zero (1998) Review This film is just fine. It feels like an extended BTAS episode but a step down from the quality of Mask of The Phantasm. The plot was very BTAS-like. My problem is that it focuses too much on being an episode instead of its own independent film like Mask of the Phantasm. I like Mr. Freeze as a character because he is not built by evil as much as others in Batman’s rogue gallery. He is built by tragedy similar to Batman. Mr. Freeze is broken by his wife’s terminal illness. He is motivated to heal his wife instead of money. I feel like this film sort of shows it.

Past Lives (2023) Review 9/10 This film is excellently heartbreaking. This is not your typical love story. It is more of a story of identity, the effects of immigration, and different paths. It is not a love triangle either. It is ultimately about a choice. There are two. Nora can choose the future life: Arthur, a new man, supportive and committed. Or the past life: Hae Sung, a man who reminisces on past lives and what could have been. This film is about that. This is about what could have been. This film ponders those two paths. Ultimately, Nora chooses the future over the past. She evokes it with barely any dialogue. Not that it’s good or bad. For me, it would both be bad. That’s the thing. It’s just heartbreaking.
