I've been meaning to watch this for a while now, and now, after finally watching it, I actually really enjoyed it!! I love all of the performances in this film because they all genuinely felt really real, as if I were watching a documentary, i also really loved the diverse soundtrack from how it'd go from "Like a Prayer" by Madonna, to some classical music and additionally a bunch of really agressive and extreme metal genres ranging from black metal, sludge metal, grindcore and doom metal along with showing extremely aggressive camera angles and techniques, and additionally at some points extremely graphic and absurd images which I believe makes this film more engaging and more dreamlike. I also really enjoyed viewing the atmosphere of this film, taking place in a rural town driven by poverty and degradation. This film felt like a fever dream, but in my eyes, this film is really beautiful and actually really inspirational for any potential experimental films that I might want to make!!!
Also, after watching this, I've just found out that this film was directed by Harmony Korine, the same director who directed Spring Breakers!!! How did I not know this before?? I honestly might check out the rest of his filmography because I really enjoyed this and Spring Breakers!!!
