I’m a big fan of this, and I’m not biased towards Bourdain in any way, I’ve always just seen him as a cool guy who travels and reviews food, but I’ve never watched or read any of his stuff. This is just a really well-crafted coming of age story, and all the actors did such an amazing job. But Antonio Banderas, holy, he has to get an Oscar nom for Best Supporting cause that was incredible. I never knew he was that good of an actor. I’m curious to see what Dominic Sessa does in the future, right now he kind of seems to be typecast as a regular dude from the 70s who’s kind of sad and angry. It’s also just weird that Matt Johnson did this, but he now has 2 of the top 3 films of the year in my opinion.

Leaned into the comedy wayyy more than I thought it would, I enjoyed it a lot. I saw the plot twist coming, if you can even call it that, but it was still satisfying.

Really cool atmosphere
