Sentimental Value

The emotional impact of this movie is out of this world man. Renate Reinsve. Her portrayal of betrayal and isolation is beyond compelling. The cinematography, framing, and blocking were all so creative and colorful. They aided the emotional journey you take through this film so well, in a way that’s hard to describe. Specifically the relationship between Nora and Agnes, the way that their connection hindered and eventually grew from their nuanced trauma. It was articulated in a very soft but also piercing way, as if you could know all that they went through. By the way, that needle drop at the end hittt and I was surprised to see that they used Yusef Lateef for that one montage as well(I thought it was nujabes for a second I was hyped)
