“stop thinking of it as a curse, to have been given an enemy in life. it can be a blessing too. a wise man gets more from his enemies than a fool from his friends.” rush presents a juxtaposition in the form of rivals hunt and lauda whilst exploring the complex nature of competition. no barrier is big enough for the human spirit. just like how those vying for the same goal can fuel one’s passion further, challenges exist to push us to the limit — an ideation simple yet powerful enough to go beyond the race track and translate into other aspects of life. you don’t need to be a fan or have technical knowledge to enjoy this movie. in fact, narratives like these are part of the reason why i’ve personally come to love motorsport. good film. superb acting, especially from brühl.
