Get Out
Gambino Needledrop
the scene where the mom talks to Chris. She uses tactics to get Chris out of his comfort zone, forcing him to talk about something he didn’t want to. The acting in that scene is insane, both Catherine Keener’s and Daniel Kaluuya, I felt fear from that scene. It’s famous for a reason.
When Chris meets the family, what a good scene. I felt the discomfort everywhere, from him being . And the one scene where everyone freezes to hear all of his movements, I got chills.
The dialogue is insane. I can tell what Peele was trying to do, specifically in the scene where Betty doesn’t know the word “snitching” or the phrase “ratting out.” I think that choice was definitely fitting. It’s the same thing as how they make the other black people dress differently and
The writing is actually beautiful, the story is excellent. I felt it when they were having the silent auction, that completely changed my perspective on the film and it gave more context to everything. Small details reveal bigger things in the story and the foreshadowing, with things like the “black mold” and the entire thing with the deers.
I like how none of the characters are dumb, nobody’s oblivious and that’s what makes it a little sadder when things don’t go their way. It makes me actually feel bad for the character. They’re not dumb unlike other movies where the main characters might seem like they deserve to die. And the get back at the end, oh my god. Might be the most satisfying sequence ever.
I love how you can see little details in the backgrounds of scenes, those details make every scene so much better.
The reveal near the end is crazy, made my jaw drop
The cinematography is insane to me, I love the symmetry in shots, and the scenes with Chris floating through the sunken place are beautiful.
The sound design is beautiful
Everything ties back together in the story and I love that, instantly a five star movie.
The acting in general is exceptional obviously.
This film deserves the praise it gets, Jordan Peele is an amazing director.
